inappropriate customer comment for the day:

Him: "I'm sure you think this is silly, but I don't know where to put this driver disc. It's kind of like when birth control pills came out and women didn't know where to put them."

Me: (in my super polite, friendly, customer service voice) "That's okay sir, I'll tell you where to put it."

As for no opposition from the American public, yes, there is. In both Time and Newsweek this week are poll results that put americans (65% and 55% respectively) against immediate action in Iraq. A friend of mine wrote her congressman and posted the response here.

I know that my feeling about this is that the American public did what they could to voice our opinions. We voted for representatives who would best represent the actions we wanted taken.

Page 61 of the most recent Bitch magazine says "The Internet is filled with self-proclaimed feminist sites with names like Crafty Bitch, Not Martha, and Disgruntled Housewife, offering domestic advice and crafting tips". I never proclaimed myself a feminist. I did a search and the word "feminist" turns up on my site (all archives included) once - in the link to Bitch magazine itself.

I really can't take credit for calling myself that. Nick, one of my close friends from my first year at Hampshire, started calling me hippygoth.
