I have been experiencing major blog and other technical difficulties.
Incredibly slow updating is making me annoyed.
Things don't show up when and where I want them to, and I cannot
get the archiving to work properly. It's driving me nuts. sigh.
I'm working on getting more links and quizzes of mine up on this other
page, but who knows when that will be finished. I'm feeling a little
negative and nuts today, so who knows.

Ohh...not doing to great today. My stomach is very unhappy.
Matt and I were wondering if I might be lactose intolerant, so I
haven't had any milk or milk products today.
That doesn't seem to matter...I'm still miserable. Gross.
There's some weird shit going down at work that I don't like, and wish
I had never gotten involved. A supervisor asked me to report some things
about someone to them. Word got out, and rumors were created.
I got investigated. Not Cool. I hadn't really done anything wrong, but
shit happened, and I am unhappy about it.
Gross...somehow I got involved in a weird office politics issue.
And its being looked into by management. I am NOT happy about this,
and it looks wicked bad, too.

Saturday is greasy hair day! Most Saturdays I sleep in, then
just get dressed and putter around the house without a shower.
YAY!! Except Matt wants to go to church tomorrow, and I said
I'd go, and tonight is daylight savings. Must remember that
and shower before bed...because who wants to roll out of bed
an hour early and then shower? Well, maybe you do, but that
makes you a freak!

The first book I would recommend to you is COSMOS.
The best-selling science book ever published in the
England language, Cosmos is an overview of the past,
present and future of science. It was also a very
popular series on PBS, starring Carl, which you can
buy on video or DVD.
In line with the PvP strip of April Fifth, you
need to pick up one of Carl's later books: The Demon
Haunted World. Carl debunks most of the crap that the
country currently believes in. It's a great book.
Yujin Kitagawa's dulcet tones warbling away as
part of the superstar folk duo Yuzu have moistened the
panties of prepubescent pupils for the past few years.
Shukan Bunshun (3/21) notes that he appeared in a 1995
XXX-rated movie graphically recreating one of Japan's most
heinous crimes -- the 1989 murder of a schoolgirl held captive
and repeatedly raped for 40 days by four schoolboys who
finally tired of their "game" and fatally bashed the girl
before cutting her body up and encasing the parts in concrete
poured into oil drums.
this film paved the way for other Wakamatsu masterpieces
like Violated Angels (1967) and Go,Go, Second Time Virgin (1969).
The closing night movie for the SF Indie Fest is
a vaguely coming of age type drama, set entirely within
the grounds of a Japanese boy's school. Here, the kids
all run around in gangs, sleep in lectures and fight at
break times. Every wall in the place is covered in graffiti.
Ryuhei Matsuda (the effeminate guy from GOHATTO) stars as
Kuja, a senior who becomes the school's official gang leader
by winning at "The Clapping Game". This game involves the kids
hanging from a railing on the edge of the school roof,
letting go and seeing how many times they can clap their
hands before their nerve fails and they grab back on.
From here we follow the progress of his friends and
enemies throughout a part of the school year, the challenges
to his leadership and the pressure of the school system
felt by everyone. There's a hell of a lot of violence goes
on in the school, and we get the impression that life as
a Japanese school boy is a difficult dangerous business.
It's a pretty bleak and cheerless vision -
between this and BATTLE ROYALE you'd be forgiven for
thinking that the Japanese school system was on the
point of explosion or collapse, with the youth as disaffected
as they come. How close this is to reality I don't know,
but the friend I saw it with tells me that the classroom
scenes are pretty close to how it actually is.
The cast all perform well - Ryuhei Matsuda has such a striking
appearance that he doesn't really need to do anything to create
an impression, and indeed he spends most of the movie being
aloof and impenetrable. This contrasts with the energies and
frustrations evident in the other characters, particulary his
best friend Aoki.
I enjoyed the movie a lot... good characters, and well filmed/scored,
with interesting developments. It's based on a collection of
autobiographical short stories from a manga artist, which
shows a little bit in the episodic nature of the plot, but
it's all weaved (sic) together well for the movie. Worth
looking out for if you don't mind your high school movies
nihilistic, violent and bleak.
So popular was Dragnet in its day that satirist Stan Freberg
spoofed it on a 1953 record titled "St. George and the Dragonet."
This record and its flip side, "Little Blue Riding Hood"
(also a Dragnet spoof) were extraordinarily popular as well,
hitting the #1 spot on Billboard's pop chart and selling over
two million copies; the record's success prompted Ed Sullivan
to invite Freberg to perform both sides of the single live on
his Talk of the Town variety show.
Positives: They are natural leaders. They represent
United States presidents, astronauts, and CEOs by
overwhelming numbers. They frequently live with a
sense of entitlement and even superiority. They often
come in two flavors: compliant nurturers/caregivers
or aggressive movers and shakers. Both are in control;
they just use different methods. As a rule, first-borns
are picky, precise people -they love paying attention
to details -and they tend to be punctual, organized,
and competent. They want to see things done right
the first time. They don't like surprises.
Negatives: They are often moody and occasionally lack
sensitivity. They can be intimidating, particularly by
pushing people too hard or refusing to take no for an
answer. Sometimes they can be a bit of "know-it-all,"
and often are poor delegators, in large part because
they don't trust other people as much as they trust
themselves. They also tend to be bossy, flaw pickers,
and conscientious to a fault.
I have alot of these qualities, but not all of them.
I notice many First born qualities in Matt (my boyfriend),
even though he is a Last born. He has an older sister who
is just about 7 years older. So he did spend most of his
teen years as an only child, and he is the only boy.
